Position: Assistant Facility Security Officer (FSO) – Part Time
Schedule: Monday – Friday
Location: 100% Remote (Texas/Florida)
Clearance: Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph preferred
Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship Required.
- College Degree preferred.
- Recent knowledge and experience using DISS.
- Experience with OPM and security clearance procedures.
- At least 8 years’ experience as an FSO.
- Current government clearance required.
- Must already have DCSA FSO Certification
- Must have completed DoD Personnel Adjudication Training and DISS Training.
- Must have in-depth knowledge of NISPOM, Standard Security Procedures, and classified storage procedures.

- NBIS-SWFT (National Background Investigation Services – Support Secure Web Fingerprint Transmissions)
- NISPOM/32 CFR Part 117 (The National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual now known as 32 CFR Part 117)
- SIMS (Security Information Management System): 8 years (Preferred)
- Current DISS (Defense Information System for Security): 8 years (Preferred)
- NISS (The National Industrial Security System): 8 years (Preferred)
- Myfieldprint: 8 years (Preferred)
Responsibilities:
- Administrate personnel security clearance processes to include coordinating initial clearance submissions and periodic reinvestigations of staff, providing guidance and instruction to staff to ensure completion of security paperwork, collection of ink or electronic fingerprinting of initial clearance candidates, and providing follow-up clearance report status on processed clearances to managers for specific contracts.
- Maintain all security documentation and files in accordance with DSS requirements.
- Maintain FCL (Facility Security Clearance) documentation and submission in accordance with DSS requirements.
- Provide Federal Agency or component personnel suitability processing support and coordination.
- Provide and document new employee security briefings, exit interviews and debriefing, investigate and report security violations and incidents.
- Maintain classified holdings and prepare classified transmittals in accordance with NISPOM (National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual) guidelines and requirements.
- Manage and develop annual refresher training to include preparing necessary documentation in support of the DSS audits.
- Provide security support to Human Resources, Contracts, and Proposal teams.
- Advise personnel of their reporting requirements, both personal/administrative and compliance/incident-related reports.
- Interpret government policies for the development and implementation of security plans and procedures.
- Maintain a working relationship with DSS, Federal Agencies and each contract’s security office for processing and maintaining employee clearances or suitability determinations.
- Develop and maintain effective Document Inventory and Control Program for management of classified systems, media, and documents.
- Create and update security plans, procedures, and instructions.
- Participate in the development and execution of security education programs.
- Supervise daily security activities and enforce government and company security policies.
- Perform access control responsibilities including managing badges, access cards and visit requests, as required.
- Conduct initial and annual security briefings, debriefings, indoctrinations, and re-indoctrinations of employees.
- Responsible for the tracking of employee clearance expiration/reinvestigation dates and tracking of all necessary paperwork and actions needed for successful maintenance and renewal of clearances.
- Maintain employee records in DISS.
- Send personnel appropriate documents and keep management updated with status.
- Prepare reports for management as required.
- Provide security input to proposals and support to contracts.
- Process and pre-screen Electronic Questionnaire for Investigation Processing (e-QIP) applications (SF86/SF85/SF85P) for correctness, accuracy and identify issues prior to submission.
- Accurately process and manage current periodic reinvestigations (SSBI-PR, S-PR) in DISS.
- Manage DD254 and applicable documents for facility.
- Communicate security requirements to site personnel and manage access control.
