AV/VTC or Low Voltage Technician

Pay: $35.00 – $43.50 per hour

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Audio Visual Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in audio-visual systems and technology, with the ability to troubleshoot software and maintain equipment effectively. This role involves telecommunication tasks, installation, and support of various audio-visual systems in diverse environments.

Duties

  • Install, configure, and maintain audio-visual equipment including projectors, sound systems, and video conferencing tools.
  • Perform software troubleshooting to resolve technical issues related to AV systems.
  • Telecommunicate with clients and team members to provide support and guidance on AV system usage.
  • Work with Electrical & Instrumentation (E & I) components to ensure proper functionality of AV setups.
  • Execute cabling tasks for low voltage systems, ensuring adherence to safety standards.
  • Utilize hand tools to assemble and install AV equipment according to schematics and technical drawings.
  • Conduct regular maintenance checks on all AV equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with other technicians and departments to coordinate installations and repairs efficiently.

  • Interpreting Drawings/Docs

“Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics…”

  • System Assembly & Setup

“Proficient at IT equipment assembly and testing.”

  • Demolition and Disposal

“Performs demolition and disposal of network and power infrastructure.”

  • Rack/AV Equipment Install
  • Cable Pulling & Termination
  • AV/VTC Infrastructure (credenzas, displays, devices)
  • Patch Panel Work
  • Cable Testing, PITCO, Labeling
  • Reading Schematics/Drawings
  • Assembly, Device Setup, IT Config
  • Peripheral Duties (e.g. demolition, equipment tracking)

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Audio Visual Technician or similar role.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of audio-visual technology.
  • Familiarity with low voltage cabling and installation practices.
  • Proficient in reading schematics and technical diagrams related to AV systems.
  • Ability to use a voltmeter for testing electrical components as needed.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot software issues effectively.
  • Strong communication skills for effective telecommunication with clients and team members.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

License/Certification:

  • CTS-I (Preferred)
  • CTS-D (Preferred)
