Project Summary

The U.S. Coast Guard Aviation Logistics Center (ALC) in Elizabeth City, NC, provides depot-level maintenance, engineering, and logistics support for approximately 200 aircraft across 28 aviation units nationwide. This contract delivers Scientific, Engineering, and Technical Services to ensure aircraft airworthiness and sustainment, focusing on corrosion management, materials testing, electrical and process engineering, laboratory analysis, and aviation system support. Skilled professionals in these fields collaborate to conduct failure analyses, enhance quality assurance, and implement process improvements that strengthen aircraft reliability and operational readiness, ensuring mission success.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Electrical Engineer to provide expert support in aviation electrical wiring systems (EWIS), aircraft power distribution, and wiring integrity assessments. This role will play a crucial part in ensuring the safety and reliability of aircraft electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical engineering analysis and design for aircraft wiring systems.
  • Conduct electrical load analysis to assess power distribution capabilities.
  • Investigate wiring failures and electromagnetic interference (EMI) issues.
  • Research and implement new wiring materials, connectors, and installation methods.
  • Support mishap investigations and root cause analysis of electrical system failures.
  • Develop and maintain aviation electrical system standards and compliance documentation.
  • Provide technical guidance and training on aircraft wiring best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in aviation electrical engineering.
  • Expertise in aircraft wiring standards (NAVAIR 01-1A-505, MIL-HDBK-516, and SAE AS50881).
  • Strong understanding of electromagnetic interference (EMI) mitigation strategies.
  • Proficiency in aircraft electrical load analysis, troubleshooting, and testing.
